(11/12/11) Bombers bounce back in style - After last weeks defeat against MK Aces, Bombers First team went back to winning ways in emphatic style, beating a vastly experienced and talented GLL Raiders team from London in a thrilling match! Final score was 60 - 58 to Bombers, which puts the team firmly at the top of the league!!
(08/12/11) BBC East Sports Awards - The Bury Bombers First Team were nominated for Team of the Year at the BBC East Sports Awards. The ceremony, at Bedford University, was attended by both past and present sporting legends from the region. The Bombers were up against Norwich Football Club, and amazingly, Red Bull Formula 1 Racing. Although the Bombers didn’t win, just to be mentioned along such greats was an absolute honour and shows how far the team have come in a few short years.
(05/11/11) Second Team fall short against Lowriders - The Second Team’s season sadly didn’t improve on Sunday, after loosing to Norwich Lowriders. The away team, who brought 12 players, were vastly superior to the Bombers, who desperately need some luck to get their season back on track. Final score, 16 - 35.
(05/11/11) First Team experience first league defeat in two years -“It had to end sometime!”. Sadly, it shouldn’t have ended against MK Aces, who were gifted the win after Bombers missed several opportunities, allowing the experienced Aces to clean up and win by a narrow 3 points. The game ended 37 - 34! However, the team have been spurred on by this loss and are determined to get back to winning ways as soon as possible!! Bombers are still top of Division 1 South!!
(28/11/11) Bombers Second Team scorched by Heat - Sadly, the second team faced their second loss in two weeks, being defeated by Hereward Heat. However, Heat, who have been playing in the National League for as long as anyone can remember, had a massive advantage over the young Bombers, in both experience and depth. The Second team played fair and hard and did everything they could, eventually loosing 56 - 11.
(28/11/11) Bombers Round Up Outlaws - Essex Outlaws travelled to Newmarket on Sunday to play the Bombers First Team. Essex, who were missing one of their best players, had no chance against the vastly superior Bombers, who ended the game winning 74 - 25. This win also meant the Bombers First team have now won 30 consecutive league matches!!
